NRT Overview:
New Ridge Technologies (NRT) develops and manufactures the most advanced Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD) sources and PMD-stress evaluation tools on the market today. Our products were developed during years of testing, evaluating, qualifying and quantifying PMD tolerance of transmitters and receivers, at 10 and 40 G/s, for the world's premiere carriers and optical system vendors.
NRT’s products uniquely enable our customers to quantitatively predict the PMD outage probability of optical transport systems due for any level of PMD in the network.
NRT’s flagship products are the 10G and 40G PMD Sources (PMDS), the NRT-10033A and the NRT-40133. As opposed to PMD Emulators that try to 'emulate' the PMD statistics and behavior of a fiber, NRT’s PMDSs remove the statistics and PMD variation from PMD measurement. Our PMDSs generate first-order PMD, second-order PMD, and higher orders, and can hold these states for hours and days. This enables long term BER testing and determination of the power penalty induced by PMD stress.
The value of our product suite is that it enables efficient quantitative and reproducible PMD tolerance testing. The data acquired from PMDS tolerance testing can be used to determine network and span design.

Management:
 New Ridge Technologies, LLC was founded in 2003 by Henry Yaffe and Frank Moody, two telecommunications entrepreneurs. The combination of their technical excellence, proven business acumen and numerous years of partnership has been central to the success of NRT.
Dr. Henry Yaffe, the President of NRT, oversees the day-to-day operation of the company. He has over 20 years of experience in advanced technologies and business.
Before NRT, Yaffe was the founder of YAFO Networks, where he led the development of PMD compensation and technologies as chairman, CEO and CTO.
Prior to YAFO, he had various responsibilities for network systems and optical technologies at CIENA. Yaffe has also held technical positions with Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, NJ and Norcross, GA.
Dr. Yaffe has a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Applied Physics from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, and a B.A. from Swarthmore College.
