Reisterstown, MD – New Ridge Technologies, LLC has teamed up with OptoCom Equiptech (M) Sdn Bhd to distribute New Ridge’s products throughout Southeast Asia specifically in the countries of Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. “This is our first entrance into these developing markets and we are very excited with the opportunity of working with OptoCom” said Henry Yaffe, the president of New Ridge Technologies, LLC.

September 2005 - Great Science of Taiwan and BeiJing Hua Tong TeRui Photon-Technology of China are latest Distributors Signed by New Ridge Technologies

Reisterstown, MD - New Ridge Technologies has recently partnered with two more distributors in the Asia: BeiJing Hua Tong TeRui Photon-Technology Co., Ltd. in Beijing, China and Great Science Industrial Co., Ltd in Taipei, Taiwan.

From September 6-9 2005 New Ridge Technologies, LLC exhibited its PMD Source technology in the booth of BeiJing Hua Tong TeRui Photon-Technology Co., Ltd at the China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE) in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. August 2005 - Four patents issued for New Ridge’s PMD Generation and Control Technologies

Reisterstown, MD – New Ridge Technologies, LLC announced that four US patents have issued during 2005 covering their unique methods to coherently generate and control polarization mode dispersion for PMD sources and PMD compensation. 

1. January 25, 2005: Methods and apparatus for generating polarization mode dispersion issued as U.S. Patent No. 6,847,484.
2. March 15, 2005: Methods and apparatus for generation and control of coherent polarization mode dispersion issued as U.S. Patent No. 6,867,918.
3. May 10, 2005: Methods and apparatus for frequency shifting polarization mode dispersion spectra issued as U.S. Patent No. 6,891,674
4. August 23, 2005: Methods and apparatus for generation and control of coherent polarization mode dispersion issued as U.S. Patent 6,934,083.

Over 230 claims were allowed in these patents cover various aspects of NRT’s technology. The highlights include: 

• The use of multiple stages of birefringent delay
• Coherent PMD phase control
• NRT’s graphical user interface
• Calibration methods
• Creating identical PMD spectra simultaneously at multiple WDM channels,
• Controlled shifting of the PMD spectrum, and 
• Independent controls for first and second-order PMD.

March 2005 - New Ridge Attracts New Interest at OFC/NFOEC 2005

Anaheim, CA - New Ridge displayed both the NRT-40133A and NRT-10033A PMD Sources at booth 2616.  The operation of the PMD Sources was demonstrated using a NRT-10033A to distort the modulation of a live 10G/s transponder.   The JPDF and TOP calculators were also featured in live demonstrations to customers in English and Japanese by our distributor. The JPDF and TOP calculators were also featured in live demonstrations to customers in English and Japanese by our distributor Toyo Corporation. Toyo represents NRT in Japan.

On March 7, 2005, Henry Yaffe presented at the OFC ’05 workshop, “PMD-Induced Service Outages: Dynamics, Models and Solutions.” The workshop was organized by Misha Boroditsky and Misha Brodsky of AT&T. Dr. Yaffe’s presentation was entitled “PMD Tolerance Qualification for Lightwave System Deployment.”

January 2005 - Toyo chosen as exclusive distributor in Japan
